IN THE BEGINNING...
One day a long time ago
A shepherd named Moses
Saw a bush ablaze.
He turned aside from his sheep
And, as he drew near the flame,
He fell to his knees
And hid his face,
For this was no ordinary fire.
There was no smoke,
Nor was the shrub consumed.
Moses trembled when he heard a voice
Calling his name from out of the bush.
"Here I am," he answered.
"Bob Moorhead's poems have a profound simplicity and beauty. They open up like a flower, with startling clarity. The poems reveal a deep religious faith, but you don't have to ask what they are 'about,' and you don't have to ask what they 'mean.' You just enjoy them."
