Brian Mittman is the Managing Partner of Markhoff & Mittman, a law firm helping injured workers and their families since 1933. His practice focuses on Workers Compensation Claims, Social Security Disability Claims and other Disability related matters. He wrote this book to provide injured workers with the information they will need to help them understand their rights and the obtsacles they face when dealing with insurance companies, the Workers Compensation Board, and employers.
Brian adopted New York as his home State after attending the University of Rochester then moving to Brooklyn to attend Brooklyn Law School. He and his wife are the parents of four and he is an avid ice hockey player (taking up the sport at the age of 32!). Brian is also a Co-Chair of the New York Workers Compensation Alliance, an Executive Committee member of the Injured Workers Bar Association and a member of multiple other associations including the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, Westchester County Bar Association, Bronx County Bar Association, and many others.
Brian is also active in numerous charities including a Board of Director of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire Memorial (scholarships for children of injured and deceased workers) and the Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
