no justice, no peace is the shocking true story of three young Black men who were the victims of one of the most heinous instances of police brutality in Western Pennsylvania history.

Police abuse cases like this one are usually swept under the rug. Or, if they are contested, the police usually walk away from it. But not this time. Arnold Staples, the father of one of the youths, was so outraged by the beating of his son, Dontane, and Dontane's two cousins by members of the Clairton police force that he waged a four-year battle in pursuit of justice. It was a crusade that would take Staples to the FBI, a federal grand jury, the courthouse, the streets, the edge of despair...and, finally, the pinnacle of joy.

Arnold Staples fought for his country in Vietnam, where he was a trained killer. He is a man you don't mess with. And you don't mess with his family. Ask the Clairton Police Department.

no justice, no peace. An exciting, dramatic story of one man's fight against injustice.

ARNOLD STAPLES, the author of no justice, no peace (voices of protest) lives in the Pittsburgh area with his wife and three sons. His hobbies include tennis, record collecting, pistol shooting, recording music, travel, and martial arts. Mr. Staples is a forty-seven year-old Vietnam veteran who served in both the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army Reserve. Following the brutal beating of his son and two nephews at the hands of three sadistic police officers, Mr. Staples spent four years researching and chronicling the atrocity, overcoming bureaucratic gatekeepers blocking the path to the truth, and confronting his own personal demons and nightmarish memories of oppression.
