Chesley F. Crosbie, Q.C. has been leveling the playing field with insurance companies since 1983.  He opened his own law firm in 1991 devoted to helping injured people, and has been a leader in the provision of useful legal information to consumers.

Mr. Crosbie has devoted his career to representing individuals who have suffered serious and catastrophic injuries or death due to car and motorcycle accidents, medical malpractice and hospital negligence, slip/trip and fall accidents and wrongful death cases, and has pioneered court certification and court approved settlement in numerous class actions in Newfoundland and Labrador. He has obtained tens of millions of dollars in court judgments and settlements for his injured clients and their families. He is rated highly by other lawyers and has been selected Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year by the peer-review publication Best Lawyers.

Mr. Crosbie was class counsel to thousands of living and deceased patients in the nationally known Breast Cancer Testing malpractice class action against Eastern Health.

Mr. Crosbie was born in St. John’s and earned his undergraduate degree from Queen’s University in Ontario. He completed his legal studies at the University of Oxford and at Dalhousie Law School.
