I became a magazine-carrying, door knocking Jehovah’s Witness for 15 years and took my children along for the ride.

This is the true story of Debbie Sorrentino’s journey from a Jewish upbringing, to a true desire to understand the significance of Jesus Christ, and the detour that led her behind the doors of the Kingdom Hall and into the Jehovah’s Witness culture.

I was in a Cult disguised as Christians…

After Sorrentino walked out of their “Kangaroo Court” a victor, it would be eighteen years before she could extricate herself from the indoctrinated belief structure of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Then she enters a church and much to her surprise, she becomes a born-again Christian. Through experience, research, scriptures and hard work, she goes on to bear witness to the fact that she did not walk out of a Christian religion, she walked out of a cult.

Heaven by Attrition goes beyond the Kingdom Hall experience and the nightmarish end to the author’s association with the Jehovah’s Witnesses. It is a story that travels full circle—from the long-held and heart-felt quest that began when Debbie Sorrentino was a young Jewish girl, to the woman who finally finds what she spent decades seeking.
